Just wanted to add to this post:  I tried the panelset.xml delete thing, but
it wouldn't do the trick for me.  I found these steps on
flashextensibility.com (from
http://www.flashextensibility.com/2006/03/19/flv-player/)

delete panelset.xml and FirstRun.log from: C:\Documents and Settings\\Local
Settings\Application
Data\Macromedia\Flash 8\en\Configuration
[Dru's note: or on a Mac, in ~/Library/Application Support/Macromedia/Flash
8/en/Configuration/]
- temporarily remove all SWF files from the windowSWF folder
- restart Flash which will recreate the panelset.xml and FirstRun.log files
- close Flash again and put the SWF file(s) back in the windowSWF folder
- restart Flash and the panels should be back in sync

Now it works...yay!  That's been plauging me for a while, and I assumed it
was just me.  You learn something every day, don't ya?
